If the conditions of the scheme were met, pet owners of dogs (Canis lupus familiaris), cats (Felis silvestris catus) and\/or ferrets (Mustela putorius furo), were allowed to travel into and between EU countries without quarantine. <strong>European pet passports<\/strong> <u>can&#8217;t<\/u> be issued for other type of pets, such as birds, reptiles, rabbits, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pet passports are only issued in the EU and only authorized EU vets can fill in the main sections of the passport. Well, unfortunately, there has been some changes since Brexit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In January 2021, Great Britain became a &#8220;Listed Country&#8221;. For pet owners, this means that a pet passport won&#8217;t be enough &#8211; an &#8220;Animal Health Certificate&#8221; will be needed as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you would like to travel with your pet from the UK to an EU country or Northern Ireland, your pet will need a microchip, a valid rabies vaccine, an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/en\/veterinary-health-certificate\/\">animal health certificate<\/a><\/span> and a tapeworm treatment (if you have a dog and you travel to Finland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Norway or Malta).<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If you would like to travel with your pet to the UK, you will need one of the following documents:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">a pet passport if you come from the EU or from a listed country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">an Animal Health Certificate issued in the UK.
