Although its area is relatively small, it has a high concentration of historical, archeological and cultural sites. Israelis are very fond of pets, especially dogs and cats, and therefore, it isn&#8217;t surprising that <strong>bringing pets to Israel<\/strong> is a popular topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In order to bring dogs and\/or cats to Israel, pet owners should comply with the import procedures set by the Ministry of Agriculture. The microchip should be subcutaneous (applied under the skin) and it should comply with the ISO standards (#11784 and #11785).<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If the microchip <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">doesn\u2019t<\/span> meet these standards, the importer\/owner must bring his\/her your own microchip reader.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Vaccinations Needed To Bring A Pet To Israel<\/span><\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"375\" height=\"250\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15838 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Pet-Vaccinations-Needed-For-Traveling.jpg\" alt=\"Pet dog getting vaccinated at the vet\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Pet-Vaccinations-Needed-For-Traveling.jpg 375w, https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Pet-Vaccinations-Needed-For-Traveling-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Pet-Vaccinations-Needed-For-Traveling-219x146.jpg 219w, https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Pet-Vaccinations-Needed-For-Traveling-50x33.jpg 50w, https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Pet-Vaccinations-Needed-For-Traveling-113x75.jpg 113w\" sizes=\"(max-width:767px) 375px, 375px\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All dogs and cats require a veterinary confirmation (such as: a vaccination booklet or vaccination certificate) that they have been vaccinated against rabies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">If this is your pet\u2019s first rabies vaccination, the vaccination will be valid for one year only.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">However, if your dog\/cat has been vaccinated <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">at least<\/span> twice against rabies, the latest vaccination will be valid for up to two years (or one year, according to the manufacturer).<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u>Exception<\/u>: A rabies vaccination isn&#8217;t required if the dog\/cat was born in a rabies-free country (Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Cyprus, Singapore, Japan, the United Kingdom or Ireland) and remained there continuously until its flight to Israel. If your pet wasn&#8217;t born in a rabies-free country, but stayed (continuously) in one of these countries for more than a year, your pet won&#8217;t need a rabies vaccine to enter Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Israeli authorities don\u2019t require additional vaccinations for importing pets into Israel. Even though other vaccines aren\u2019t required, we highly recommend you vaccinate your dog\/cat with the routine annual vaccinations.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Rabies Antibody Titer Test<\/span><\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"375\" height=\"250\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15842 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Rabies-Titer-Test.jpg\" alt=\"Blood serums for Rabies Titer Test\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Rabies-Titer-Test.jpg 375w, https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Rabies-Titer-Test-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Rabies-Titer-Test-219x146.jpg 219w, https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Rabies-Titer-Test-50x33.jpg 50w, https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Rabies-Titer-Test-113x75.jpg 113w\" sizes=\"(max-width:767px) 375px, 375px\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A blood sample should be taken from all dogs and cats <u>at least<\/u>\u00a030 days after the rabies vaccination was given.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The result should state that the rabies neutralizing antibody titer was equal to or greater than 0.5 IU\/ml.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">no waiting period<\/span> after the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pets2fly.com\/en\/rabies-titer-test\/\" rel=\"noopener\">titer test<\/a><\/span> results are given.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It is important to note that:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The blood sample should be sent to an OIE approved laboratory. color: #0000ff;\">Ministry of Agriculture<\/span><\/a>, is required only if:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There are more than two pets<\/span><\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The pets will fly as manifest cargo<\/span><\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The pets weren&#8217;t in the owner&#8217;s possession at least 90 days prior to their arrival in Israel<\/span><\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The pets aren&#8217;t arriving with the owner<\/span><\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The dog is a dangerous breed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Important<\/span>: from August 1, 2017, dogs and cats that are imported to Israel with an import license will only be able to enter as cargo shipments (with an airway bill).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Dangerous &amp; In general, the process should take anywhere from two weeks to three months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Question #3<\/span>: <strong>I want to purchase a puppy abroad and bring it to Israel. Is this recommended?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">First of all, please beware of scams! Unfortunately, there are many scammers in the pet aviation industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Second of all, it&#8217;s an expensive procedure. If you are doing so to save money, we recommend you think this through. It will most likely be cheaper for you to purchase a puppy in Israel.
